I am currently an Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in Comparative Politics at the University of Surrey.
My main research fields are comparative political behaviour and public opinion, particularly in Western Europe but also in Latin America. I am the principal investigator of the Global Public Opinions Project and a team leader for Team Populism.
My specific interests include public opinion, responsiveness, congruence, executive approval and macro-politics. I also study populism and political extremism.
I am always interested to explore new collaborations, as well as supervising ambitious and motivated research students, both at the MA and PhD level, in any of the following areas of research:
Comparative politics | Political behaviour and public opinion |
Political sociology, socio-political attitudes and value change | Populism, political extremism and radicalism |
Political and electoral participation | Political institutions, parties and party systems |
Cross-cultural and trans-national diffusion patterns | Quantitative and qualitative research methodology |
